The Peninsula is a beautiful but complex place, and as in many major cities, visitors can be vulnerable in certain areas – which is why a daily chaperone is non-negotiable. Faizel is your chaperone and very well connected and respected. He understands the streets, the stories and the subtleties of the Peninsula. He is a devout Christian, Jew and Khoi Khoi Shaman and Chief. All things to many people.
Faizel will chaperone you for 8 days from Newlands, to Hout Bay stopping at small BnBs, Airbnbs, eco-cabins, and guest houses. He will share his life and the history of his people with you when asked, but is aware of the need for walkers to have their peace and quiet too. Brent will chaperone you around Hout Bay and in his community: Karbonkelberg.
The Cape Peninsula is rich in diversity and sacred sites and the best way to explore it is on foot. We provide your chaperone and your accommodation, and the rest you find for yourself. There are so many options.
Choose accommodation that is budget, or go for comfort with more of the frills, depending on the level you desire.
