Route 6 of Cape Camino is an 8-day walking pilgrimage around the Cape Town Peninsula, following mountain paths, coastal trails and village streets from Newlands to Hout Bay. This multi-day Camino route covers daily distances of approximately 9km to 25km, passing through Newlands Forest, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Constantia wine estates, Kalk Bay, Simon’s Town, Scarborough, Kommetjie and Chapman’s Peak. The terrain varies from established footpaths and greenbelts to beach stretches and steep mountain ascents, offering one of the most geographically diverse walking experiences in the Western Cape.
The Peninsula Camino includes a mandatory local chaperone and pre-arranged accommodation in guesthouses, eco-cabins and small lodges along the route. Walkers experience a combination of natural wilderness, historic landmarks, coastal communities and cultural heritage sites, including sections of the Hoerikwaggo Way. Route 6 is suited to pilgrims seeking a more physically demanding and socially dynamic Camino, with flexible itinerary options ranging from 3-day to full 8-day walks. It can be booked as a standalone Peninsula pilgrimage or integrated into a longer Cape Camino journey.
All cancellations are subject to a 5% administration fee, regardless of notice period. This fee covers planning, coordination, and administrative work already undertaken.
60 days or more prior to departure: 95% refund (5% admin fee retained)
Between 60 and 30 days prior: 90% refund
Between 30 and 14 days prior: 30% refund
14 days or less prior to departure: No refund
Please note: Peninsula route accommodation requires full upfront payment to secure bookings. For these routes, the standard refund policy may not apply and refunds are subject to host terms.

Between 60 and 14 days prior: 10% rescheduling fee
14 days or less prior to departure: No rescheduling and no refund
Rescheduling is permitted within the same calendar year, subject to availability.
