Route 9, the Peninsula Solo Camino, is a self-guided multi-day walking route around the Cape Town Peninsula, following sections of mountain trails, coastal paths and village greenbelts without a full-time chaperone. This route allows experienced walkers to explore the natural and cultural landscapes of the Peninsula independently, while still benefiting from pre-arranged accommodation and structured route planning. Daily distances vary depending on the selected itinerary, typically ranging between 9km and 25km.
The Peninsula Solo route includes iconic landscapes such as Table Mountain, False Bay coastline, Chapman’s Peak and the southern Peninsula villages. Terrain includes forest paths, beach stretches, tar sections and mountain ascents, requiring a good level of walking fitness and confidence with navigation. Route 9 is ideal for independent pilgrims seeking flexibility, privacy and a self-paced Cape Town Camino experience, while remaining connected to the broader Cape Camino network.
All cancellations are subject to a 5% administration fee, regardless of notice period. This fee covers planning, coordination, and administrative work already undertaken.
60 days or more prior to departure: 95% refund (5% admin fee retained)
Between 60 and 30 days prior: 90% refund
Between 30 and 14 days prior: 30% refund
14 days or less prior to departure: No refund
Please note: Peninsula route accommodation requires full upfront payment to secure bookings. For these routes, the standard refund policy may not apply and refunds are subject to host terms.

No rescheduling fee (5% admin fee still applies)
Between 60 and 14 days prior: 10% rescheduling fee
14 days or less prior to departure: No rescheduling and no refund
Rescheduling is permitted within the same calendar year, subject to availability.

A 50% deposit payment is available when you choose the EFT (bank transfer) option at checkout. This will secure your dates. The balance is due 30 days before your Camino begins.
