The Cape Camino Experience
This is your adventure and its totally up to you. Its going to take some courage, but remember, being out of your comfort zone will only make you grow. Not sure where to start? It doesn’t matter! The route is circular so anywhere is perfect. We often start in the city of Cape Town at the Lower Cableway station on the Colours & Culture Leg, ending at Rhodes Memorial. Each tab below includes essential information that will ensure you get the most from your trip.

Some favourite times of year are:
- March, April, May, August,
- September, October, November, but it really is up to you!
While much of the route is in public spaces, for the more remote legs of the route we suggest walking with pilgrims who know the terrain and who are experienced in mountain walks.
Guides are available for hire should the need arise for more personal support and protection.
It is always a good idea to be sensible with regard to walking times and walking with a companion when feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable. A whistle and pepper spray could also be two of the items to remember to pack and have at hand.

"I’m on my way through Kalk Bay. Stunning morning for a Camino. The Spanish Way is indescribably beautiful countryside to walk through, but the Cape holds her own in every way. Only the signage needs attention. Thanks Gabrielle… Buen Camino!"
"Wow! What an amazing 5 day journey across South Africa’s Cape. How often does one watch a sunrise over the ocean early one morning and then watch it set over the ocean on the SAME day? How often does one sit in a sacred cave listening to ancient stories and hearing the faint echo of ancient spirits?"
"We live in a magnificent part of the world but mainly seen through the windscreen of the car. To really know the Cape you have to do the Cape Camino where you live, breathe and experience the vibrancy that is “Our Peninsula”. Your personal Camino guaranteed to lift your spirits and open your soul to new adventures."
